[Correction Notice: An incorrect link was put in the earlier version of this post, which has now been changed to the correct page. Apologies to anyone that was inconvenienced.]

Thirty-seven NEX stocks traded on Monday. Of these, 9 advanced, 10 declined and 18 remained unchanged. There were 109 trades. The top trader in terms of raw volume was Biomerge Industries Ltd. [NEX: BIL.H], with 135,300 shares traded. Datinvest International Ltd. [NEX: DAI.H] was a close runner-up, with 121,000 shares traded. Unusually, Biomerge was first in number of trades for Monday and Datavest was second. The latter closed at 20 cents/share, down 6 cents/share from its previous close. The ten trades in DAI.H seemed to have been composed of two sold blocks. The former, of six trades of 71,000 shares total, had trades that were all sold through an anonymous financial institution. The latter, of four trades summing up to 50,000 shares, were all sold through Penson. As of the sixth trade, the price of Datavest shares was 21 cents/share; the last four trades went for 20.5, 20, 20 and 20 cents/share respectively. The first trade went for the day's high of 23.5 cents/share. Since Biomerge traded more than ten times on Monday, it is elaborated upon in the paragraph after the next.

According to the TSX Venture closing summary, the top trader in terms of value of shares traded for Monday was Rocher Deboule Minerals Corp. [NEX: RD.H], as it was last Friday. Of the eight trades in RD.H on Monday, there seemed to be two sold blocks of 3 trades each, one of 25,000 shares total that were sold through Canaccord and another of 30,000 shares total that were sold through TD Securities. Each three-share tranche ended up pushing the price of RD.H down 0.5 cents from first trade to third. Between the two was an odd-lot trade of 300 shares at 43 cents/share, and before both was a 2,000-share trade at 45.5 cents/share. That trade and the three next were bought through BMO Nesbitt, although the trade data (including the total volume of 27,000 shares for all four) merely indicates a possible single bought block. Rocher closed at 44.5 cents/share, down 3 cents/share since Friday's close. Biomerge didn't place on the top ten daily-turnover list, found below, and Datinvest placed first; Rocher placed seventh.

Only one NEX stock traded more than ten times on Monday, the above-mentioned Biomerge with fourteen trades. The first three went at 1.5 cents/share, but the price was pushed up to 2.5 cents/share by the fifth, only to fall back to 2 cents/share at the sixth. The next three board-lot-sized trades also went at 2 cents/share, and the last three went at 1.5 cents/share. There seemed to be a bought block composed of the first three trades. All were made at the same time, right after market's open, and were all bought through TD Securities: those three trades totaled 6,000 shares. Another presumed block was much larger, a sold one of 25,000 shares. The three trades in that cluster all went at about 2:22 PM ET; all were sold through Scotia. BIL.H closed at 1.5 cents/share, leaving it down 0.5 cents/share with respect to last Friday's close.

The top percentage gainer in Monday's trading was The Silver Recycling Company Inc. [NEX: TSR.H], which closed at 44 cents/share for a gain of 12.5 cents/share, or 39.68%, on the day. Three trades, of 2,000 shares at 42 cents/share, 2,000 shares at 45.5 cents/share and 1,000 shares at the closing price of 44 cents/share, put TSR.H in the top spot for percentage gain. The first two trades went within three minutes of each other, at about 10:50 and 10:52 AM ET respectively; both were bought through E-Trade. The last trade went at about 2:35 PM ET: it and the second were both sold through an anonymous financial institution. Daily volume in TSR.H totalled 5,000 shares.

There was a two-way tie for the top percentage decliner for Monday, both with declines of 25%. The first was the above-mentioned Biomerge, which ended the day at 1.5 cents/share for a drop of 0.5 cents/share, and the other was Global Tree Technologies Inc. [NEX: GTT.H], which also closed at 1.5 cents/share for a decline of 0.5 cents/share. Unlike Biomerge's, though, Global Tree's trading was fairly sparse: two trades, of 6,000 shares at the closing price of 1.5 cents/share and an odd-lot-sized 700 shares at 0.5 cents/share. Both went at the same time, and they were sold through TD Securities. They gave GTT.H a total daily volume of 6,700 shares.
